What does the Glenfiddich 40 years taste like?
The 40-year-old whiskey treasure from Glenfiddich impresses with its extraordinary character and its complex and deep aromas. The dark mahogany shimmering whiskey already impresses with its multi-faceted scent. Not only notes of dried fruits, fine dark chocolate, fruity dark cherries and freshly roasted coffee beans resonate, but also aromas of polished leather, cloves and charred wood. On the palate, the masterpiece is silky soft and opulent. It initially comes up with intense aromas of dried fruit such as dates and raisins, steamed apples and fruit bread, before notes of delicate bitter chocolate, oak wood and nuances of peat develop.
Color:Dark mahogany.
Nose:Dried fruits stand in a bond with dark chocolate, which combines with freshly roasted coffee and black cherries to create a wonderful melange. Burnt wood, polished leather and fine cloves are added to the nose.
Palate:Luxurious is probably the right term to describe this silky single malt. Dried fruit (dates and raisins) alongside fruitcake and stewed apple open up a tone of oak and dark chocolate surrounded by hints of peat.
Finish:Exceptionally long and of complex structure. You won't soon forget this single malt from Glenfiddich.
