Freya was the foremost goddess of ancient Germanic lands where the Riesling grape originated. This wine honours early German settlers who cultivated the first Riesling vine in the exemplary micro-climate of the Barossa’s Eden Valley.

Tasting notes:

Bright citrus-blossom, white currant and elderflower aromas dominate the bouquet. A lively and flavoursome wine with mid-palate flesh, finishing with zest and crunchy acidity. A delicious wine, which is immediately enjoyable and will mature gracefully for many years to come.

Opens with a perfumed bouquet of white flower and citrus blossom, the palate tracking the bouquet with exemplary analysis and purity; its lime/lemon flavour base line gives it presence now and into the future.

A creamy riesling with sliced green apples, white peaches, grapefruits and apricot stones. Medium-bodied with a lovely creamy texture and long layers of fresh stone fruit. Turns to crushed stones.

Lime rind, lime, vanilla and elderflower perfume, maybe a little lime leaf too. This is tight and crunchy, yet distinctly floral and aromatic, a little juicy stonefruit in with the mixed citrus flavours, stony and fresh, Thai basil and a fresh finish of excellent length, a lime-laced gin and tonic thing in the aftertaste. It’s very easy to like, and drink, shall we say.
